Holidays are slowly coming to an end, but this does not mean that the number sports volunteering trips will decrease. Actually there are more sporting events in the off-holiday season. Do you have some days off left? Here are the currently open recruitment for volunteering during events in the near future, that I was able to find:
• World Athletics Championships, Doha 2019 (Qatar)

This is quite a surprising offer, because there are only less than two months left to the championships. Usually, recruitment for this competition takes place much earlier. Maybe it’s because of an unusual date? Some players are not happy that the championships are taking place more than a month later than normally, because it can disrupt the Olympic preparations cycle. For volunteers, however, this is probably a smaller problem. Apply here.
• European Athletics Championships, Paris 2020 (France)

Remaining on the subject of athletics and, as if to confirm the words from previous point. Volunteer recruitment is now open for the European Championships, which will take place in the French capital next year! It is worth applying now and not to wait too long.
Somehow a lot of different sporting events happen in Paris recently. The competition will take place at the end of August, the date depends of course on the Olympic Games.
The organizers say that recruitment is open to everyone, and knowledge of French is needed only in certain roles. Unfortunately, the application is currently only available in French: here.
• European Men’s Handball Championship Sweden, Austria, Norway, 2020

The championships will be held in three countries. I was able to find an advertised recruitment to Austria.

• European Short Course Swimming Championships, Glasgow 2019 (United Kingdom)

Hurry up, because the possibility of registration will be closed on August 25. There are several interesting, unusual roles, such as the person operating the scoreboard.
Scotland is unlikely to come to your mind as an autumn-winter destination. By this time, however, the cities will be beautifully decorated, and Edinburgh has a large Christmas market, so it’s actually a pretty good idea, also from a tourist perspective.
• Youth Winter Olympic Games, Lausanne 2020 (Switzerland)

This is the second largest winter sports event after the Olympic Games, in which athletes in age 15-18 participate.
