It’s been almost six months without high-level sports events. It looks like the second half of August will make up for it a bit. For football fans mostly.

Ahead of us is the final tournaments of the Champions League and Europa League, in a different form than before. And I think that in terms of optimizing the organization, as well as from the point of view of neutral and willing to travel fans, this approach makes a lot of sense.

Originally, the LM final was to be held in Istanbul, LE in Gdańsk. These cities, however, will be the organizers next year. In this year, the finals were moved to Lisbon and Germany, respectively. This will be the tournament formula, starting with the quarter-finals.

As for the volunteers who participated in the recruitment for the pre-scheduled final matches – around September, it will be clear what the procedure for the next year will be: will the entire recruitment be repeated, or it will be different for those already qualified.

I will let you know on my blog and on social media.

Both August tournaments will be played without the public. The number of media accreditations is also reduced, and there was no open recruitment for volunteers.

Despite the closure of the stadium, Lisbon expects the arrival of around 20,000 tourists-fans. I suspect that this is still not much compared to the standard number of tourists in August, so the pre-match visiting will probably be pleasant and without crowds.

It just so happened that from the day the tournament started (August 12), direct flights from Poland to Portugal are allowed (just saying😉)
